About Me
Hello! I’m Lisa Anderson Shaffer - a therapist, mentor to creative professionals, artist, mother, author, energy practitioner, and deep thinker (also, mediocre skateboarder). I’ve spent nearly 20 years as a licensed therapist, guiding individuals through creative blocks, emotional healing, and finding their own path toward brilliance. Now, as a mentor and muse, I help artists, musicians, writers, daring leaders, designers, and other creatives tap into their genius, break through burnout, and cultivate lasting, innovative work. My approach spans the intersection of creativity, psychology, Human Design, and energy work, with a deep belief in the transformative power of artistic expression.
I have a Bachelor’s of Fine Art from the San Francisco Art Institute and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University. I began my career as an Artist-in-Residence at a San Francisco hospital, blending my passion for art and healing. Over the years, I’ve directed counseling services at a fashion college, specialized in treating adolescents in acute crises, and built a private psychotherapy practice. Along the way, I founded and ran the internationally recognized jewelry brand Zelma Rose, hosted a psychologically minded podcast Joy is Now and authored These Three Things, a guided journal based on a daily writing practice that captures the art of noticing and reflection.
I live in the wilds of Marin County, where I’m surrounded by the beauty of nature, which inspires both my work and my contemplations on life. Being a part of the creative process brings me immense joy. It makes me feel alive and what drives me to mentor and support others. I’ve found that through sharing our struggles, our breakthroughs, and the inevitable uncertainty of being human, we can connect in profound ways.
When you work with me 1:1, you gain a dedicated partner committed to your personal and creative growth. Together, we will explore your unique challenges, harness your strengths, and develop strategies to overcome obstacles that stand in your way. My approach is personalized, blending energy work techniques and intuitive practices with creative mentoring to help you achieve your goals. Whether you’re seeking to break through a creative block, maintain your creative process, or bring new energy and enthusiasm to leadership, I provide a fun and supportive space for you to thrive. Let’s work together to unlock your full potential and create a path that enlivens your creative genius.
Thank you for being here. I’m honored to share this space with you, and I look forward to connecting with intention, wild creativity and lots of fun!
Let’s also connect on Instagram.
