This was such a nourishing read. Thank you, Samantha for sharing your wisdom. I felt especially seen by your note on communication. As a woman who has spent time in both the boardroom and the breathwork circle, Iām continually reminded that clear, direct communication is a practice, not a given. The Gloria Steinem is a forever favorite. What a joy to see it here.
Here are my three things:
1. A perfectly timed afternoon break walking around the block resets everything.
2. I recently noticed how often I quite a need. Here's to reclaiming directness, without apology.
3. Confidence has nothing to do with being right. Learned this from a high school debate coach and it continues to resonate.
Thank you, Lisa and Samantha, for this beautiful reflection space.
Such powerful reflections, Charmaine! Number three really resonates for me. I think we exist in a time where we defer to confidence where very little really knowledge or experience exists. A good reminder to check ourselves if we defer to the loudest voice in the room.
Love Samantha's books! She's a favorite at my house, I was so delighted to see her featured here.
1. When I steep tea in the afternoon I enjoy the silence. It is a practice of receiving for me and one that I take very seriously and with pleasure.
2. I tend to over explain when I donāt trust Iāll be heard. I dilute my message and vision to make everyone else comfortable. I'm actively working on this.
3. A favorite mentor once told me to "stay awake." A reminder that attention and presence is our most valuable gift.
Thank you, Lauren ā¤ļø yes communication is something I will forever be working on, also trying to please too much. And love that / so simple but so trueā stay awake!
Lisa I love this series so much, and am honored to be featured. Your writing has been such an inspiration to me for years now, so reading what you have shared is extra meaningful. Thank you! ā¤ļø

Love these, Lauren. You know how serious I get about receiving. the effortlessness comes from serious effort. I appreciate you touching on that here.
