I appreciate the message here:

“So if you are out there thinking you need to have a plan for 2025, or a word - don't you just love those? - or a theme, a manifestation, an organizational system, on and on. Okay. Great. Goals are nice. Write those down and maybe look at them again in a month or so when you don’t feel so vulnerable. Do that in March.”

Exactly. This is how I was feeling earlier today. There’s nothing particularly magical about December 31st. I used to feel compelled to write a long list of goals and go through all kind of cleansing rituals. This year I wasn’t called to do that. As you said, the past is in the past. 2024 is almost behind me. I have some ideas of what I want to do next year. And I can review them in a month or two. The last few months have been about slowing down, cocooning and being present. Knowing I don’t have to do or be anything in any moment has given me a sense of inner peace. Once in a while panic sets in. But, I know that’s old programming. I just remind myself to come back.

Question for you: I see reference to Gates. I read iChing. Are Gates the same as hexagrams? Are you working with the same system?

Yes. Thank you for that explanation. I did a little research on the internet after I posted as I was curious. I did a free short test (I’m sure it’s not comprehensive). I came up as Manifestor which makes sense to me as I do identify as being a bit of a lone wolf. That explains my some of my childhood struggles as well. I didn’t want to conform. So, what little I understand of ‘The Manifestor’ challenges in being understood makes sense. It’s not just a trauma thing. Yeah. Lots of epiphanies. Thanks for introducing me to Human Design. It’s something I might consider looking into further later this year. I also see you have an extensive background working in mental health in Bay Area. That’s where I have spent significant part of my life — well, as a client. I’m trying to focus my time and attention elsewhere as it’s a role I’m outgrowing (thankfully).

Thank you for sharing your reflections. I’m so glad to hear that exploring Human Design has sparked some meaningful insights for you! Discovering your type, especially as a Manifestor, can be incredibly validating. That lone wolf quality, the need for independence, and the challenge of being fully understood are such integral parts of the Manifestor journey. It’s powerful to recognize that some of those experiences aren’t just tied to past struggles but are also reflections of your unique energy and purpose. That’s a big epiphany!

It sounds like you’re in a beautifully transformative place right now, shifting focus and stepping into a new chapter. That’s such profound growth, congratulations on moving beyond roles that no longer serve you.

If you do decide to explore Human Design further, it can be an incredible tool for understanding yourself on a deeper level. Viewing ourselves as energy is a simple yet incredibly profound shift. Feel free to reach out if you ever have questions or want resources. Wishing you all the best as you continue to embrace what’s next!

Hi Ann, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experience. It’s affirming to hear how this resonated with you, especially during this season when the pressure to plan and perform can feel overwhelming. Slowing down, cocooning, and being present are such powerful ways to honor yourself and find peace amidst the noise. That awareness you’ve cultivated, of recognizing old programming and gently returning to center, is truly inspiring.

The Gates I reference in the Solar Transits come from the Human Design system. While there are connections between the Gates in Human Design and the hexagrams of the I Ching (Human Design borrows from the I Ching, among other systems), they aren’t completely identical. Each Gate in Human Design represents an energy or theme connected to specific areas of life, and they integrate with the broader framework of Human Design, which includes astrology, the chakra system, and quantum physics. If you're familiar with the I Ching, you will definitely find some parallels.

A constant practice for me, but I've found one well worth the intention. Cheers to the present in all its forms.
